Joe is a Brooklyn-based writer, director, producer, and editor originally from Providence, Rhode Island. He aims to make things with style, substance and soul.

His films have won awards at places like The Young Director Award, Santa Fe Film Festival, Proof Film Festival, The College Emmys, Miami Film Festival, Flicker’s Rhode Island Film Festival, Chelsea Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, and more.

Joe’s latest, MY KIND OF PEOPLE, won the top prize at the 2024 Russo Brothers’ Italian American Filmmaker Forum (RBIAFF). It features his grandfather, Joe Picozzi Sr., in his on-screen debut. A feature MY KIND OF PEOPLE, loosely inspired by the short, is currently in active development and financing.
